She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's new trailer has introduced a brand new and unlikely hero in Frog-Man. But who is he, and how could he impact the MCU?

A new trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been released and has promised all the comedy and gamma-irradiated action from the comics. While it was expected to see the likes of Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth), there was still room for some surprises in terms of very niche and largely unknown characters. One example was a brief glimpse of the hero, Frog-Man. But who is this unlikely vigilante, and how could he impact the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

In the comics, Eugene Patillo was the son of the petty thief, Leap-Frog, who used a spring-loaded frog costume to steal money to provide for his son. However, once he was arrested, his son found his suit and sought to change the stigma surrounding Leap-Frog. As Frog-Man, Eugene was a bumbling yet semi-successful hero who worked with heroes like Spider-Man, The Human Torch and even Captain America. Although he's worked with some of the best heroes in the Marvel universe, Frog-Man never reached the big leagues. But he has proven to be one of the most endearing and positive heroes as a result.

Although he was shown only for a moment in the trailer, Frog-Man was striking an action pose in full costume. Not much else was revealed about the character, but his presence alone raises multiple questions, like why he would be active in a world with other heroes. One possibility was that he was inspired by what the Avengers did against Thanos and the heroes that have appeared since then. With so much inspiration in the world, creating an identity to join the fray would seem like a logical conclusion.

Another possibility, which could greatly impact the MCU, would be that Frog-Man was one of the new heroes to appear during The Blip. While much of the world was reeling from the losses after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, crime was still rampant. Therefore, someone would have to step up and defend those in need if heroes weren't around to stop the criminals. Because of this, the door was wide open for Frog-Man to appear. And his introduction could mean that more of Marvel's odder heroes are set to debut, as well.

Frog-Man's presence could usher in the appearance of more comedic heroes like Squirrel Girl and the return of Howard the Duck, who has been notorious for leading comedic books that still handle threats but never took themselves too seriously. It's a strange corner of the MCU to explore but one that would help show the various demographics the studio could appeal to. For example, while characters like Blade and The Punisher are far too adult for younger audiences, that would mean heroes like Frog-Man could be the perfect outlet for children to gravitate to.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will likely have many unique cameos for longtime Marvel fans to get excited over. But until then, the debut of Frog-Man was both exciting and a promise of the strange and hilarious events that will likely transpire in the series. However, from a wider perspective, it could also tease the appearance of even more unlikely heroes and villains in the MCU.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law arrives on Disney+ on Aug. 17.
