A clever digital artist has bought us a smaller version of the mighty GMC Canyon pickup truck, creating a muscly and capable off-roading SUV.
The digital car rendering world is a fascinating place. There are a huge number of highly talented artists out there who can come up with some truly brilliant creations. One of the best out there is jlord8 on Instagram, and he regularly posts some quite interesting renders, showcasing his talents and giving us some unusual creations. This latest render sees him take the GMC Canyon and create a smaller, GMC Jimmy AT4X version. A shrunken version of the new Canyon that works rather well.
The AT4X is the wilder, more rugged version of the GMC Jimmy, and that is what jlord8 has based this render off. We can see the main influences from the design at the front with the rugged looking fascia, the guard around it and the huge grille with GMC in the middle in red.
Below that, there is the skid plate to protect the underbody of the small SUV when it goes off-roading. It is worth mentioning that jlord8 has given us a two-door and four-door version of his little GMC SUV. The two-door version has Suzuki Jimny vibes to it. The rest of the design showcases some great features. On the two-door, it's interesting to see just how much the car has shrunk length wise, the compact nature really suiting the GMC. The lack of a pickup bed takes some getting used to, as it is now replaced with a standard trunk area. The cabin will probably be quite spacious still, while it sits high off the ground in two and four-door forms thanks to its large tires and lifted suspension. It makes for a dramatic looking vehicle in both forms.

The four-door version retains many of the features of the two-door Jimmy with the aggressive front-end, the skid plate and the big tires. The large fenders on both versions cap off the designs well. The longer length of it is interesting, with its dimensions closer to that of the Canyon pickup truck. This will allow for more seating and more space in general, and perhaps make this version of the GMC Jimmy more suited to those longer, cross-country drives.
The smaller version is perhaps more likely to spend its time off-roading. Both though we imagine would be very capable at this role should they ever become a reality.
