No, thanksI'm already a PureWow fan.

No, thanks I hate pretty things.

Winter is coming here and alongside the seasonal flurries of snow, it brings drafty apartments, cracked cuticles (thanks 20-degree weather) and wind-blown cheeks. Yay. So to help us get ahead of the game, we asked our staff for the absolute must-haves that they are eyeing (and buying) to beat the frigid chill this year. From mug warmers that keep your coffee forever hot to soothing creams for dry, irritated hands, here’s what our coworkers are stocking up on this December.

“My grandpa gifted me this blanket knowing that it's my first winter in the city, and it's the best one I've ever owned. It's extremely heavy, and I love how one side is hand-knit cable and the other is Sherpa—it's the best of both worlds. I throw it at the foot of my bed during the day for a cute accent but drape it over my comforter at night for extra warmth. (And, of course, it comes with me to the couch.)”—Stephanie Meraz, editorial assistant

“I recently got an electric mug to keep my coffee and tea hot for longer and I’m more impressed by it than I thought I would be. My apartment gets pretty cold in winter, so if I don’t drink my morning caffeine quickly, it gets cold mighty quick—but not anymore, thanks to this mug. This—plus my Fellow kettle—is turning my kitchen into a chic, cozy respite from gloomy winter days.”—Abby Hepworth, fashion editor

“I (famously) wore ‘the’ Amazon coat for years, and even through my pregnancy (it’s a great maternity coat, FYI). But after all the wear and tear, I decided I needed to upgrade this winter, so I invested in this Woolrich reversible down parka—I saw a girl in a coffee shop wearing it and made it my mission to track it down. I wound up finding it on Gilt for a steep discount since it’s discontinued.”—Dara Katz, executive editor

“This is incredibly boring, but I've just bought a door snake. Our front door swells in the summertime, making it impossible to open and then shrinks in the wintertime, letting frigid cold air into the house (I can practically feel the gust of wind!). This unglamorous but much-needed purchase will help me stay nice and warm, plus keep my heating bill down.”—Alexia Dellner, senior editor

“My Canada Goose parka. She's pricey but 100 percent worth it. I live in Chicago, so investing in a top-rated coat was a necessity. It keeps the wind chill and bitterly cold air out. I love that it's super long because it keeps literally everything warm. When I wear it to go shopping, I can take it off in the store and hang it over my shoulders with the inside straps, which is a detail I never knew I needed.”—Olivia Kappler, commerce editor

“This hand cream is absolutely zero percent glamorous but it works so well—like, will heal cracked and bleeding hands in three days well. I buy it in the tube though, because germs.”—Katherine Gillen, food editor

“I just bought a Brooklinen Super Plush bathrobe. I wasn't sure how much I'd actually wear it since I normally ever wear bathrobes, but I decided I wanted to be a bathrobe person. Well: oh my god, I've been living in it now that it's cold. It's probably too hot for the summer, but right now, it's just infinitely cozier to snuggle up in than my typical sweater. I'm literally wearing it right now. Don't tell.”—Cristina Gutierrez, senior editor

“I’m doing a half marathon in the spring, so I plan on doing a lot of wintertime running. To keep my feet nice and warm, I just ordered a pair of running socks from Darn Tough (they’re technically hiking socks, but rules are made to be broken). It’s a family-owned, Vermont-based company that my sisters have been raving about for years, so I thought it was time to see what all the fuss is about.” —Sarah Stiefvater, senior editor

“Brunette the Label makes the absolute best sweatshirts for a cold winter’s day. I’ve been living in my Not Your Boyfriend’s Brunette crew neck (also available for blondes, jet black and redheads) because it’s perfectly oversized without looking sloppy, warm as heck and super-soft on the inside. (Vanessa Hudgens is also a fan.) Basically, I won’t be taking it off until next season.”—Nicole Briese, assigning commerce editor

“My scalp gets unbearably dry in the wintertime, which means I have to double up on the amount of product I put in my hair, which then results in so much build up. This scrub makes shampooing so much easier because I don’t have to spend a lot of time rubbing my scalp to get it clean.”—Stephanie Sengwe, associate editor
